Day 1: Saturday
After the long journey, Flat Drew arrived in Texas Saturday afternoon. It was a beautiful spring day here in Austin, sunny and about 75 degrees. As you can see, Flat Drew was happy to rest after the long trip. He traveled 1900 miles from Bethel, CT to Austin, TX, and that's a lot of wing flaps! No wonder he was tired!

This was Flat Drew’s first time in the Great State of Texas and here are a few things we learned about Texas on Saturday:
- Texas is the second largest state in the US – (Alaska is the first).
- Texas has the second largest population – (California is first).
- Most of Texas is in the Central Time Zone, which means that it is one hour earlier in Texas than it is in Connecticut.
- Texas used to be its own country, but only for a short time. It was called the Republic of Texas.
